Austrian Silver & Guilloché Enamel Aubergine Card Case with Centre Ivory Portrait.

A wonderful Objet d’art.  Superb quality guilloché enamel card case.  The unusual deep purple / aubergine coloured case opens to reveal a gilt silver interior.  A centre portrait of a woman in ivory decorates the top of the case.  The two-tone purple/aubergine enamel decorates the top sides and bottom of the case.

Late 19th century.

Marked inside:  with Austrian Head and silver quality of ‘2’ – for .900 grade silver

Measures: 3 1/2 inches long x 2 3/8 inches wide.

Excellent condition – no damage to enamel.
