A large sterling spoon, it is rather an unusual combination with one serving spoon end and a marrow scoop on the other end. The spoon is English hallmarked and dated for London, 1744. The spoon would have been used for special dining occasions, or meals of everyday.

Hallmarked: Lion for London, it is dated 1744 (marks are difficult to see from signs of rubbing and use).  Maker’s mark present, but can’t identify as it’s worn.

Excellent Condition: No dents or bends. (Minimal surface scratches from gentle use and rubbing on the hallmarks)
