A Heavy Georgian Style English Hallmarked Sterling Solver / Tray, Dated 1921.

This sterling solver is in a Georgian style having a stunning design and shape. The round tray features a gadroon edge with shell accents – typical Georgian style and three sterling bun feet. It bears the inscription on the bottom that reads : “J. D. I.  from L. S. G. In token of three years happy association, 1931-34 ” That adds a poetic charm to the provenance of this tray giving it a unique narrative.

This splendid tray is perfect for special moments, or for those who adore the Georgian style.

Measures:  13 1/2 inches in diameter.  Weight: 1078 grams.

Marked:  W & S – for Wilson & Sharp Ltd., Edinburgh (They produced out of Scotland and England.) Hallmarks – Crown, Lion and “d” for the year 1921.

Excellent Condition: Shows surface scratches on the top and bottom that could easily be professionally removed. Two tiny indents.
