Sterling Silver Sugar Castor – Hallmarked London – Dated 1901.

This stunning sugar shaker is crafted in sterling silver with repousse scrolls and flowers accented with engravings, all of the designs go around the body. The piece dates 1901, and was once used as a sugar castor to shake sugar onto desserts or fruit. You can use it today to do the same or add chocolate to top off your coffee.  The bottom of the castor has a small mark in shape of a heart in addition to the standard English hallmarks.

This is a beautiful piece to enjoy your sweet-tooth moments.

Measures: 7 1/4 inches high including finial x 3 inches wide

Marked: English hallmarks – First two are rubbed but Left facing lion passant for .925 Sterling Silver and the letter ” f ” for the year 1901 are clear on the body and the lid/stopper.

Condition: This piece has a few minor body dents that are well camouflaged by the reposse and overall patterning. The lid/stopper has a a crack along the rim (that could easily be repaired)
