Pair of 19th Century Georgian Sheffield Plate Wine Coolers – D&G Holy & Co. Sheffield – dated c. 1820’s

A spectacular pair of Sheffield, English wine coolers with grape and leaf repoussé decoration throughout the body and rim of each cooler.  The rims and interior remove to allow ice to surround the interior wine holder allowing the wine to stay cool.

Impressed mark on the bottom of each:  D&G Holy & Co. – Sheffield – 1410 (with pineapple).  The mark dates the coolers 1820’s.

D&G Holy & Co. Mulberry Street, Sheffield.  Registered mark from 1822, firm closed in January 1833.
