A Fantastic Pair of Large Japanese Imari Jardinieres, 19th Century

This fantastic pair of grand Japanese Imari  jardinieres are richly decorated in an underglaze of cobalt blue, cadmium red “iron” tones and continuously gilded throughout. The surface is entirely covered in hand painted stylized depictions of flowers and shrubbery in repeating panels and bands, on a vertically ribbed body with decorated trim on out turned lips. They are in excellent condition considering their age.
