The backrest features deeply sculpted scrolling foliage, rosettes, and a central cartouche flanked by a pair of stylized gryphons. The arm supports are boldly carved with expressive lion masks, while the front panel showcases a central grotesque mask surrounded by foliate scrollwork in high relief. The bench seat lifts to reveal a spacious storage compartment beneath.
Raised on carved block feet with acanthus and gadrooned detailing, this impressive piece displays exceptional craftsmanship and a deep, warm patina developed over more than a century. Seat opens for storage lined in cedar.
