A SET of 12 MINTON 10 1/4″ DINNER PLATES in H3649, c. 1920
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vThis is a very prettily decorated set of 12 gold-edged Minton dinner plates, with a deco-influenced floral border.
The pattern features plain white centres, surrounded by cream-coloured rims, overlaid with two contrasting decorative bands.
The outside rim is a foliate garland in blue, green, turquoise and yellow, framed with yellow and black scrollwork on either side.
The wider, interior rim has yellow footed baskets, filled with stylized, multicoloured, floral sprays, in rich shades of pink, blue, rust, turquoise, and green, with raised, red enamel berries between the leaves. Yellow foliate scrollwork sprays with black outline alternate with the baskets. A yellow border, trimmed in black, with small festoons of laurel garland, complete the rim decoration surrounding the recessed white centres.
This set would be lovely on a buffet table. If this is your pattern, these dinner plates are a rare and lucky find!
Marked: On the backs of each plate with a hand-applied pattern number in cadmium red and a black Minton transfer factory mark in use between 1912-1950, and an impressed “Minton” block printed mark in the body.
