Pair of Tall Royal Crown Derby English Bone China White and Gold Candleholders – “Gold Aves” Pattern
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA wonderful pair of Royal Crown Derby English bone china candleholders in the “Gold Aves” pattern. The candleholders have a white background and are lavishly decorated in gold with designs of birds, flowers and leaves. On the square base of each the candleholders are 4 dolphin heads. There is also gold trim on the scalloped rims and square bases.
The candleholders have brass inserts to hold the candle sticks.
On the underside of each holder is the Derby maker’s mark and is stamped ” Derby China. Royal Crown Derby. English Bone China” as well as the Roman numerals “XXXIII”. In addition, on one candlestick there is “A B” in red paint and “H” in gold. The other candlestick has “B” in red paint.
Each candleholder stands 10 1/4 inches tall and is 4 5/8 inches across the square base.
Note: there is a hairline crack on one of the candle sticks. The other is in very good condition.
