19th Century German Oak Case Mantel Clock
GeneralA large mantel clock, that dates to the 19th century, Germany. The body is solid oak with a matte varnish, it also decorated floral inlay at the centre to accent the clock. It has a bold architectural form joined together by a strong triangle shape, with a classical column on either side. The clock face lies underneath a glass cover, it features roman numberials, maltese crosses, two pointed arms and cherubs in gilt. The back has a screen door, in which contains the components for the clock to function.
Chimes on the hour and the half hour. 8 day clock movement.
Marked: Made in Germany.
Measures: 11 1/2 inches wide x 1 1/2 inches tall (6 1/4 inches deep).
Excellent Condition: Minor patination commensurate with use and age ( Small rips in the interior fabric of the door. See image for more reference)
