19th C. Meissen Porcelain Figure of Woman Playing Flute with Lamb / Lace Dress
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA pretty porcelain figure of a Woman in period dress and hat holding and playing a flute. She holds a basket of pears in her apron and a lamb lays at her feet. The dress is very fine with porcelain simulating lace on her dress front and arm cuffs – a very difficult process to make – but one that the artists at the Meissen factory had mastered.
Her skirt is beautifully painted with floral bouquets, her bodice in burgundy and her shoes in blue.
Measures: 6 1/4 inches high
Meissen crossed swords mark on bottom and some incised numbers
Excellent condition all around. The end of her flute looks professionally repaired.
