19th Century High Quality Colonial Indian Silver (Kutch, India) Hot Water Jug with Very Fine Repousse Detail – circa 1880

A spectacular 19th century colonial Indian (Anglo-Indian) silver hot water jug (c. 1880) from Kutch, India, with fine repousse detail of flowers and animals engraved on the body, finial and handle of the piece and with the engraved face of a man on the spout.

Two inserts on the jug’s handle separate the handle from the body to conduct the heat.

The piece measures 5 1/4 inches wide from the spout to the handle and stands 6 3/4 inches tall from the finial to the base.
It weighs 627 grams
