Early 19th Century Meissen Germany Porcelain Leaf-Shaped Dish, Decorated with Flowers and Insects
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA beautiful early Meissen Germany porcelain leaf-shaped dish, decorated with flowers and insects.
The dish has a white background with very colourful decorations and painted handle. Near the handle are 5 raised porcelain flowers and leaf clusters.
The dish has a gold painted rim and the handle has gold accents.
On the underside of the dish is the Meissen maker’s mark in blue with “II” underneath. This dates the piece between 1815-1860
The dish measures 10 1/2 inches long from the tip of the leaf to the handle and is 8 1/2 inches wide.
There is some paint loss on the gold rim and some paint loss / chipping on the edges of the raised flowers but, overall, the dish is in very good condition.
