19th Century Porcelain & Gilt Bronze Lidded Baluster Urn with Limoges Enamel Portrait
Porcelainshis late 19th century French – 29 inch cobalt blue baluster urn is lavishly decorated with gilt bronze and an enamel portrait of a lady, signed “Favony.”
The foliate gilt bronze ornaments include: A pineapple finial on the domed lid, foliate bands surrounding the rim and neck and an ornate oval frame around the portrait, belted to the vase with a wide bronze band.
The urn pedestal is fixed to a laurel-wreathed bronze base.
