A Large 19th Century French Gilt Bronze & Marble Clock – With Woman Reclining & Child During Harvest – Japy Freres Movement

A beautiful large French clock with a marble body, white enamelled face and a gilt bronze grouping after a wheat harvest – A reclining woman over sheaths of wheat and a child leaning against her.  A scythe sits on the ground beside them.

The clock works are marked with – Japy Freres circle mark and HP & Co. while the white enamelled dial is marked with initials of the French retailer.  The grouping is very well detailed, but is not signed.

The clock is in good working order.  2 small narrow side panels (which should be marble) have been replaced with porcelain tiles in a matching colour (this is reflected in the price).

Measures: 23 inches wide x 8 inches deep x 18 inches high.
