A Rare English, Large Carlton House Mahogany Desk – circa 1900
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA rare mahogany Carlton House desk with inlaid satin wood decoration. The inlays surround the doors and drawers on the top and bottom sections. The desk has multiple drawers – The top section of the desk has 6 drawers and 2 doors as well as 2 sloped hinged sections that open into additional drawers.
The centre of the desk slides open towards the user and uncovers 2 crystal inkwells and a pen holder. There are locks on each door and 3 keys. The back is typical Carlton House desk with a smooth curved, wraparound back. The tapered legs sit on 4 brass castors.
The desk measures 50 1/2 inches long x 18 inches wide and stands 41 inches tall.
It is in excellent condition.
