v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA wonderful late 19th Century copy of an oil painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds, RCA titled “The Infant Samuel” depicts a child kneeling by the bed with hands clasped together in prayer. The painting is housed in an elaborate wooden frame. The original painting hangs at the Tate Britain Museum in London, England and was originally painted in 1776.
The quality of the painting is very good.
The painting is signed A.G. Clay & Sir Joshua Reynolds RCA on the bottom right of the painting.
The painting and frame together measure 40 1/2 inches tall x 33 1/2 inches wide and are in very excellent condition.
