American Bronze Portrait Plaque of a Gentleman in Relief – by E.A. Kretschman – Sculpted 1876

A wonderful large and heavy bronze portrait plaque of a gentleman – maybe someone famous or well known – I’m not sure.  The artist is Edward A. Kretschman (1849-1923) of Philidelphia and it is signed and dated 1876.  There is also a foundry mark – Miller & Krips , Founders, Philadelphia.

Very crisp detail in the bronze – especially the hair.  Beautiful quality.

Both signature and foundry mark are located under the shoulder of the 3 dimensional plaque.

Measures:  23 1/2 inches high x 19 1/2 inches wide
