American Shreve & Co. (San Francisco) Sterling Silver Pierced Basket with Handle.

This lovely American sterling silver pierced basket with a fixed handle is by Shreve & Co.out of San Francisco that was a retail jewellery business started in 1852 by George C. and Samuel Shreve. The firm was incorporated in 1894. The basket is nicely reticulated and has a laurel and bow design in the centre. A great piece to serve chocolate truffles after dinner.

Marked: S bell S, SHEREVE & Co., Sterling, San Francisco, 2222.

Measures: 6 1/4 inches in diameter and is 7 inches high (including the handle).

Weighs: 200 grams.

The basket is in very good condition.
