American Sterling Presentation Dish for Canadian Military Rifle League , 1906, Art Nouveau Floral Pattern

Here is a beautiful Art Nouveau floral design American sterling bowl that has been used as a presentation piece. In the centre of the bowl is stamped an octagon and mark and the words ” Canadian Military Rifle League” as well as the date “1906”.

On the underside of the bowl is the maker’s mark and the word “sterling” as well as “H 511” and hallmark for Meriden Brittania Co. – Meriden, Connecticut. The company was bought out by the International Silver Co. in 1898, but the mark was used until 1930.

The bowl is 8 1/4 inches in diameter and is in very good condition.
