An ART DECO BRONZE STATUE of a FAN DANCER, attributed to BRUNO ZACH, c. 1925
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vThis is a charming figure of a young Art Deco dancer, with bobbed hair, en pointe shoes in ballet slippers with ribbons. Her upraised arms hold a large ostrich plume dancer’s fan behind her head. She wears a short, ruffled dress with ruffled cap sleeves. Her fashionable deco jewellery includes: drop earrings, a long strand of beads with a diamond-shaped pendant drop, a set of bracelets, and a pinkie ring.
Many figures in this style, with this quality of detail were made by the famous deco sculptor Bruno Zach, and likely, this young lady is one of his designs.
The attractive and well-modelled gilt bronze figure rests on a small, hexagonal pedestal base, fixed to a trapezoidal red and black granite pedestal base.
Unsigned.
Measures: With granite base: 15 1/2″ H x 6″ W x 6″ D.
