Cigarette Holder in Butterscotch Amber & Meerschaum with Original Box Case

Antique butterscotch amber and meerschaum cheroot holder in its original case. Meerschaum is German for “sea foam”, a rock made of sea shells / sea creatures originally found on beaches. Lovely piece of butterscotch amber chosen for this piece with both light and dark shades reflecting the light. Made for “cheroots” or small cigars open at both ends, rather than cigarettes. The case is in very good condition with the original hinges, white plush interior and  leather exterior marked in German “Meerschaum…”.  A conversation piece that is in great condition and considering its age, it could no doubt tell a few stories!
