Art Glass / Crystal, Perfumes & Powder BoxesCharming and delicate Moser type Bohemian cranberry glass perfume or scent bottle with a gorgeous stopper, long tapered neck and bulbous body, all decorated in hand painted gold overlay that include “leaf/vine” motifs. There are three main opaque, white enamel overlay medallions on the cranberry glass, one is hand painted with a young girl’s portrait, the other two with bouquets of flowers. The adorable very fine painting of the young girl in a white dress with puff sleeves captures her ” child-like inquisitiveness ” while looking at a butterfly resting on her hand.
The enamel portrait and floral medallions are raised slightly above the surface of the bottle as is the white enamelling designs that frame the base. Gold bands encircle the medallions, the neck and base of the bottle. This piece, circa 1880, is in very good condition with some wearing to the gold overlay around the neck. The exquisite cranberry glass stopper with hand painted gold overlay is unusual to find and just adds to the elegance of the piece.
