Dominick & Haff – Labors of Cupid Pattern – Sterling Serving Lifter – Shreve, Crump & Low Co.

An unusual and rare pattern in Sterling Silver of a cupid sitting and eating at a table.  The pattern is part of the Labors of Cupid – where cupid is in various poses on different pieces throughout a set.

This is the older version of the pattern and has an early Dominick & Haff mark and was retailed through Shreve, Crump and Low Co out of Massachusetts in the 19th Century (Shreve, Crump & Low, a  business, is the oldest purveyor of luxury goods in North America, responsible for trophies such as the Davis Cup and the Cy Young Award)

The handle is pierced throughout.

Marked. Shreve Crump & Low Co (N G ) + symbols for Dominick & Haff (sterling maker – diamond, circle & rectangle)

Measures: 2 1/2  inches wide  x 8 inches long.
Weight: 75 grams
