Elaborate Art Nouveau Silver Plated Shell Shaped Dish features a Nude Woman, Children and Fish
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vThis Art Nouveau silver plated decorative dish depicts a nude woman partially draped with a cloth while leaning over a vessel pouring water, in her hand she holds a bullrush. There are three children – one child is holding a net that is over the woman legs, another child sits upon a fish while holding a shell up, the third child points upward. The shell shape really is free form and flowing and reminds me of the rolling ocean surf. A star/sun burst and a porpoise/dolphin also adorn the shell.
This is truly a remarkable piece of art.
