This sterling silver 2 handled porringer is of an 18th century design, but made by The Goldsmiths &Silversmiths Co.Ltd in England, 1924. The handles are quite unique, yet elegant in shape with a fair bird and vine, the two handles make it easy to pick up and hold. The hand chased cup has a scene of a stork and foliage upon the rear and front. The stork was usually depicted in 19th century folk tales or nursery rhymes to tell stories about carrying new borns to a family.
This delightful porringer would make a precious gift to celebrate a newborn or christening.
Measures: 3 1/4 inches in height x 4 inches in diameter (1 inches by the handles)
