English Porcelain & Silver Plated Barrel Shaped Biscuit Barrel in Imari Colours – circa 1890. Walker & Hall English marks.
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA rare barrel shaped porcelain biscuit barrel in hand painted Imari colours of gold, rust red and blue. The barrel is surrounded by silver plate handle (hinged), 4 feet with cross brace and two silver plated lids that each open separately. The ends are lid shaped and reeded with a knob/finial in a salmon pink colour reminiscent of Davenport porcelain. The silver plate is marked for what looks like W&H S in pseudo silver hallmarks and ‘EP’ with crown above – which would be for Walker & Hall, England.
The handle is hinged and can move down to either side.
Measures: 8 inches wide x 6 inches deep x 10 inches high with the handle up.
