Exceptional Italian Jewelry by Designer Aldo Garavelli 18K Yellow Gold & Multi Gemstone Gardinetto (Flower Basket) Brooch, Mid 20th Century

This exceptional Italian brooch by designer Aldo Garavelli features a beautifully handmade 18k yellow gold “gardinetto” (Italian for flower basket) blooming with an array of fourteen delicate 18k yellow gold flowers. Each of six flowers are set with gemstones that form the “petals”. Two flowers with 7 sapphires each, two flowers with 7 rubies each and two flowers with 7 turquoise each. The under clasp-side of the brooch is marked “ITALY”, “237 AL” trademark for Aldo Garavelli , “750” the purity of  “18K” . All in very good condition. An exceptional early Garavelli piece.
