Exquisite Large American Victorian Silver-Plated & Crystal Centre Bowl / Punch Bowl – by Rogers Smith & Co, Meriden, CT – Glass By Heisey – circa 1890

A rare and exquisite American Victorian centrepiece bowl – with floral grate for cut flowers which is removable and could be used as a punch bowl.  The silver-plate base has two extended handles with child putti figures on each end.  The pedestal is detailed, pierced  and decorative.  The large crystal bowl – marked by Heisey (Newark, Ohio) – sits in the base – the bowl has a detailed and decorative pierced rim.  Overall the bowl measures 28 inches from handle to handle.

The silver plate base is stamped by Rogers Smith & Co, Meriden, CT.  USA – the large glass bowl is marked with the Heisey diamond mark with “H”.

This makes a wonderful centerpiece for a dining room table or buffet.
