Adornment includes large scrollwork and floral motifs, where these “rocailles” or curvilinear elements add an exuberance modelled on nature. The “dramatic movement” begins at the bottom with a “heart shaped” finial and flows upward to pinnacle at the top with an exaggerated whimsical element almost “like a bird taking flight”. In excellent condition in accordance with its age, and has a beautiful patina on the gold.
