Floral Enamelled Glass Powder Jar with Brass Top, c. 1900

A lovely enamelled glass powder jar with a brass top, circa 1900. The jar has a blue background and has been decorated in white and yellow enamel daisies accented with gilt “leaves and branches”and white dots in vertical lines accented in gilt around the body of the jar.

The top of the jar is brass and has a slide button mechanism to allow the holes to open when one wishes to distribute the powder from the jar. When not needed, the mechanism slides to close the holes.

The jar and lid are 4 inches tall from the top of the finial on the lid to the base of the jar. The jar is 1 3/4 inches in diameter.

Please note that there is a small chip at the base on one side of the jar, some gilt loss, and some slight denting in the brass lid.

However, overall, the condition is good.
