French Drop-Front Secretaire / Desk with Marble Top – circa 1880.
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA lovely French drop front secretaire / desk with a walnut veneer and a mottled marble top and cabriolet claw feet. The secretaire has bronze fittings and a key that fits the locks on the front.
The hinged opening for the desk reveals 3 drawers and 2 shelves inside. There is a tooled leather surface on the inside of the hinged opening but it shows condition issues from use – stains from use over its many years.
There is a drawer above the hinged opening for the desk and a two-door cabinet below the desk with 1 shelf.
The secrétaire measures 57 inches tall x 32 inches wide x 16 inches deep.
