French Porcelain Gilded Cocoa Pot with Putti Figures

A lovely French porcelain cocoa pot with removable lid, circa 1900.

The pot and lid have a white background and have been decorated with pale blue  and elaborate gilt swirls. In the centre of each side of the body of the pot are scenes of putti playing.

There are no maker’s marks on the underside.

The pot with lid stands 9 1/4 inches tall and measures 6 1/2 inches wide from the spout to the handle.

Note: there is some discolouration on the underside of the lid, chips on the inside rim of the pot (where the lid sits) and  what looks like an old rough patch on the edge of the lid. There is also some gilding loss on the rim.

Despite these imperfections, the pot looks good on the exterior.
