French Silver Card/Cigarette Case .935 & Royal Azure Blue Guilloche Enamel by Bapst Freres Of Paris. Circa 1880

This fabulous French card/cigarette case which dates from c1880 is made of .935 silver, has a stunning royal azure blue guilloche enamel front and is in beautiful condition. This luxurious piece has a circular release button with gorgeous chrysoberyl semi-precious gemstones in a marcasite setting.  “Crest-like” decorative engraving to the reverse and lovely engraved trim with the original red leather presentation case that is marked ” BAPST 20 Rue de Choiseul PARIS”.

Bapst Freres were a top Paris based goldsmith and jeweller who produced King Charles X coronation regalia in 1824. This case was most probably a unique piece made for a special client and would make a very special gift.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. Comes in it’s original presentation case that does have some marks and wear.
