A nice scene of animals on the inside of a barn – featuring a cow, chickens and a rooster. Light streams in from an open window at the back of barn. A hay bail is painted beside the cow and the floor has hay. Large beams from the barn on display in the background.
The oil painting is on canvas and framed in a dark wood frame with a thick wooden stretcher. Dates mid to late 19th century – of European origin.

French, 24 inch High Bronze ‘Triomphe des Arts’ – Statue of a Woman with Lyre – Signed ‘A. Gaudez’.$3,800.00
A classical bronze statue of a woman holding a turtle shell lyre in tribute to ‘Triomphe Des Arts’, (possibly Venus) dedicated to the new arts in the public sphere, inspired by love.
Features two inscribed plaques ‘Triomphe Des Arts Par A Gaudez Hors Concours’, and then a presentation plaque reading ‘Le Comite de la Ste De Secours Mutuels De La Ville De St Die. Ason President Pierre Hirsinger 28 – 7 – 1925’ done in 1925. The figure would be dated earlier than this in the 1880’s.

A miniature painting on ivory, it dates early 19th century, France. The painting depicts a delightful narrative of two ladies sharing a conversation about a book. The painting is a soft combination of muted tones of orange, red, brown, peach and blue on ivory. The brush work is rather fine and detailed, it is carefully rendered to show the liveness of everyday people at the time. The painting lies under glass, with a white border and square shaped frame.
