Georgian Period Old Sheffield Silver- Plated Samovar / Hot Water / Tea Urn, circa 1810
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA lovely Georgian period Old Sheffield silver-plated samovar / tea / hot water urn, circa 1810. The urn has a two spigot design on the spout in front and lions’ heads on the sides of each handle. It sits on a base with 4 ball feet and has an acorn finial on top of the removable lid. It has a monogram “RAC” and the engraving of a bird on the front of the piece. The original centre heater is removable and was originally used for hot stones to keep the water or tea warm.
The urn measures 13 1/2 inches wide from handle to handle and stands 16 inches tall. The spout extends 5 1/2 inches out from the body of the urn.
A beautiful addition to any sideboard.
It is in very good condition.
