German Porcelain Cherub Mantle Clock and 2 Lidded Vases Set of 3, Early 1900s
v** SOLD ARCHIVES **vA delicate and textural example of German Sitzendorf porcelain, early 1900s, this mantel clock with its intricate flower and allegorical cherub “four seasons” motifs has beautiful gilt workmanship and lovely hand painted pastel pinks, blues and greens. The clock sits on a complementary adorned porcelain base and has a key to wind the clock movements. Dimensions for the clock and base together are height 23″ x width 6.75 x depth 9″.
The set also has 2 Von Schierholz German porcelain marked lidded vases/urns that match the mantle clock’s theme, coloration and cherub motifs, also from the early 1900s. The dimensions of each lidded vase are: height 9.5″ x width 6.75″ x depth 4.5″.
Owing to the age and delicate texture of the pieces, there are tiny fleabites on the top lid of one of the vases and on the little flowers and leaves, but considering the overall visual impact these imperfections are not very noticeable. The set is a stunning example of historical German porcelain at its finest and truly a rare find.
