A wonderful Art Nouveau Maltese sterling silver demi-tasse cup and saucer.

Hallmarked with Meli’s symbol of the tower, an anchor, the name “Francis Meli”, and “Malte”. on the underside of the cup and saucer.

Both the cup and saucer have scalloped rims and are engraved with leaves and berries in an Art Nouveau design

The firm of Francis Meli was established at Valletta in 1850 and continues today.

The cup measures 2 3/4 inches in diameter and the saucer is 4 inches in diameter.
