Hand-Blown American Crackle Glass Champagne Pitcher by The Sandwich Glass Company of Boston, c. 1870

An unusual and wonderful American hand-blown crackle glass champagne pitcher, made by the Sandwich Glass Company of Boston, circa 1870.

The pitcher has a fluted rim and an applied “braided rope” glass handle. Theres is a hole in the back of the pitcher that extends into the centre of the body – this is for inserting ice to keep the champagne chilled.

The pitcher measures 11 1/2 inches tall x 7 inches wide from the spout to the handle.
