Hand-Painted Nippon Porcelain 2-Handled Dish, c. 1890-1910

Here is a hand-painted Nippon porcelain 2-handled dish, c. 1890-1910.

The dish has a white exterior and base with a gold rim around the dish and around the base.

The interior of the dish has been painted with a centre pastoral scene, surrounded by large blue cabbage roses and green leaves on a mauve background.

The handles have been painted green and overpainted with a brown swirl design.

Below the gold rim on the top of the dish is a decorative dot pattern.

The underside of the dish shows the Nippon maker’s mark and reads “Hand-Painted Nippon”.

Note that there are some small bits of excess paint on the white exterior and on the underside and there is some small paint loss on the central pastoral scene and on the handles.

Overall, though, the dish is in good condition.
