Heavy Bronze Tazza with Inlaid Pietra Dura Marble in Colourful Flower Patterns

Here is a gorgeous bronze tazza on a pedestal base. It has a twist design on the rim and on the edge of the centre section of the piece. Around the outer section of the tazza are framed sections of inlaid pietra dura inlaid marble in flower patterns.

“Pietra Dura” is a term for the inlay technique of using cut and fitted, highly polished coloured marble/stone to create images. It first appeared in Rome in the 16th century.

The tazza measures 12 3/4 inches in diameter and stands approximately 4 inches tall.

Please note that there is scratch on the top rim of the base. Otherwise, the piece is in very good condition.
