Herend Porcelain Hand-Painted Figural Inkwell – Mother Bird & Young in Nest

A stunning hand painted porcelain figurine of mother bird feeding her young in the nest, with two small ink jars on either side, from Herend, Hungary. It features a lovely woven and pierced porcelain base decorated with floral and scroll, and painted with vibrant colours throughout in red, pink, violet, blue, yellow, orange, green and gold over white porcelain. It is a unusual, yet beautiful design of excellent quality.

Marked: Blue Shield Mark. Herend. Hungary. Hand-Painted. (1839 -1939.)

Measures: 5 inches long x 3 1/2 wide.
