Large German Hanau European (.800) Silver Hallmarked Pierced Basket

A beautiful German Hanau pierced decorative basket in European (.800) silver, hallmarked with the German crescent moon & crown and back to back double RR (maker’s mark).

In the basket’s centre panel, a courtier gentleman greets his lady love, with a house and horse in the background. There are floral swags and bows around the pierced rim with putti, grapes and vines on each side.

The basket measures 12 3/4 inches long x 10 5/8 inches wide x 2 inches high.

It weighs 474 grams and is in beautiful condition.
