Large “Monty” Toby Jug by Royal Doulton, England – D6202, Produced 1946-1954

This English Royal Doulton large porcelain Toby Jug is entitled “Monty” and was designed by Harry Fenton. It is numbered D6202, issued in 1946 and was discontinued in 1954.  Modelled after  Bernard Law Montgomery (1887-1976), who was a senior British Army Officer, fighting in many wars notably accepting the German surrender at Luneburg Heath in 1945 during the Second World War. The handle names his battles.

Marked: With the Doulton factory mark, Made in England, Royal Doulton, England, 5.

Measures: 6 1/8 inches tall X 6 inches wide from the spout to the handle.

It is in excellent condition.
