Majolica Pottery Asparagus Plate, 19th Century

Here is a very lovely 19th century Majolica pottery asparagus plate, with a white background and decorated on the front in pale blue and yellow with greenery and 4 stalks of purple-tipped asparagus spears.

The plate has scalloped edges; is 9 1/2 inches in diameter, and is numbered “20” on the reverse.

There is some slight age wear to one part of the underside edge and some paint loss near the base of one of the spears.

Overall the piece is in good condition for its age.
