Mappin Brothers – English Silver-plated & Crystal Tazza with Egyptian Revival Camel Decoration. circa 1870

A decorative tizzy in silver-plate with 4 laying camels on a footed base with a central pillar which is topped by an etched crystal flat rimmed bowl.  4 Chains hang down from above attached to the camels.

The tazza is marked for Mappin Brothers, the pre-curser to Mappin & Webb.

The Mappin Brothers name was used from 1846 to 1902 – changed from Mappin Bros. to Mappin & Webb in 1863, but continued using the name congruently until 1902.

Measures:  9 3/4 inches diameter x 9 inches high.
