Mappin & Webb Elaborate Prince’s Silver-Plate Fish Service for 12 – “King’s Pattern” – Original Wooden Two-Tier Box

A gorgeous silver-plated fish service for 12 in the ‘Prince’s Plate’ by Mappin & Webb.    It is in the King’s pattern.

The set is housed in its original wooden two-tier canteen that has a blue velvet and silk interior and is stamped with the Mappin & Webb maker’s mark. It reads “Mappin & Webb Silversmiths to the Queen Sheffield / London”.

Each knife and fork is elaborately carved. On each knife blade is stamped “Mappin & Webb Prince’s Plate. Rd 71552”.

The knives are each 9 inches long and the forks are 7 3/4 inches long.

There are some tiny surface usage scratches but, overall, the set is in very good condition.
