Monumental Flow Blue Royal Dolton Vase “Blue Bonnet Babes”

Flow Blue “Children In the Woods” Series Vase. More than a century ago, Royal Doulton collectors were enthralled by the flow blue designs which are now known as Blue Children or Babes in the Woods. This commanding Royal Doulton Blue Children Vase is in excellent vintage condition with common crazing. The scene depicts a game of hide & seek in the woods with one blindfolded boy trying to find his three delightful playmates, quite an idillic scene.

The Flow Blue technique was used to create the soft misty effect on this vase with a typically innocent scene, depicting angelic girls and boys, immaculately dressed in frilled bonnets, fancy dresses and velvet knickerbockers.

Measures: 11 inches tall x 9 1/4 inches wide.
