A bulbous shaped Moorcroft pottery vase in the Anemone pattern with a Flambe glaze. The main body is in a deep red colour with flashes of bright yellow and green decorating the flowers. The pattern was created by Walter Moorcroft and dates circa 1945. The flambe glaze is rarer than the normal glazes as the temperature to fire it was much higher and therefore prone to burning and breakage.
Marked on bottom: Impressed Moorcroft, Made in England, with paper label “Potters to the Late Queen Mary”.
Walter Moorcroft Initials in blue.
Measures: 7 inches high x 5 1/4 inches wide
Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. One very tiny surface scratch to glaze. Normal crazing.
