Outstanding Japanese Imari Jardiniere, 19th Century

This outstanding and grand Japanese Imari jardiniere is richly decorated in an underglaze of deep cobalt blue, cadmium red “iron” tones and continuously gilded throughout. The surface is entirely covered in hand painted stylized decoration with  “cartouche” depictions of  a “garden tree scene” and another with a pair of “pheasant-like birds”.

A fantastic collectible piece in excellent condition considering its age.
